FRANK MAKAK ON THE METHADONES TRIBUTE ALBUM!

I'm very happy to announce that I'll contribute a song to the Methadones tribute album called "Sorry To Keep You Waiting: A Tribute To The Methadones" out on Infested Records on July 30.

The Methadones, for those who don't know, are a Chicago punk rock band fronted by Dan Schafer (Dan Vapid And The Cheats, Riverdales, The Mopes, Noise By Numbers, Screeching Weasel, The Queers, Sludgeworth) that called it quits in late 2010.

Among the other bands that will pay tribute to the Methadones are the Manges from Italy, The Parasites and DeeCRACKS.

I have recorded the song "I Believe" in March especially for the album, which will be available for pre-order friday June 14th through Infested Records. You can find all the informations you need on the Infested Records Facebook Page.  Dan Schafer will sign the first 25 copies, so be quick!

Finally, a big thanks to Chris of Infested for his support and enthusiasm. He definitely put all his heart into this comp, so check it out!

Hey! I haven't said anything in a while and I thought I'd post my most recent recording! This is a song by The White Wires, a powerpop/garage/rock'n'roll band from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada! I could write a long message and talk for hours, but really, it's just mighty catchy rock'n'roll. Enjoy!

A TRIBUTE TO WOODY GUTHRIE

Woody Guthrie would've been 100 years old in 2012. To commemorate Woody's Centennial, I would like to post a version of my favorite song of his, "Along In The Sun And The Rain", which he wrote in the 1940's.
I have recorded my version of it in 2006 - and it's my humble tribute to not only an American icon, but a true folk music pioneer.

The song was written by Joey Ramone and originally appeared on their 1989 album "Brain Drain". Look for the video - 1989 at its finest!

The idea is pretty simple. The idea is to release a vinyl record with no music on it, but with a download coupon - because vinyl records are only decorative trophies for so many people.

I'll advertise this as:

THE RECORD WITH NO MUSIC, FOR THOSE WHO WEAR GLASSES WITH NO LENSES.

Buy it now before it gets popular.

That said, vinyl records really sound good. People who like them for real, please don't be upset by this.

CATCHING UP ON OLD NEWS

Since the old website hasn't been updated in over 2 years, I thought I'd post a couple of old news, just in case you missed a couple things.

In May 2010, I released a new single for the song "A Murderer On 5th Street". The single is available online only, on the itunes store, on CD Baby and also, for the people in the USA, on Amazon. Check it out!



In other news, my album "A Cause Without A Devil" is now available at HMV in Canada. The CD is already in stock in most HMV stores in the province of Quebec, and can be ordered in every store in Canada. So, go to your local HMV to get yourself your copy (or your second, third or fourth copy - it's alright), and if they don't have it, ask them to order it!



The album is also still available through Paypal on this very page in the online store section.

WELCOME TO THE NEW WEBSITE!

Welcome to the new FRANK MAKAK official website!

Why a new website? It's pretty simple: Even though the old one really looked amazing, it was just impossible for me to update it. I've decided to switch to a blog format, so this way I'll be able to update it easily on a more regular basis.

I'd also like to take a quick minute to thank Alexandre Bergeron, who designed the old website. He did a great job on that. And I'd also like to thank Eric Collard, who put it live and gave me some advice (and God knows how I don't know much about how the web works!) A big thanks to them.

So, here it is! It's very simple, yet it's working just right. Look around, come back once in a while, and don't hesitate to let me know what you think!
